Biography of Shane Karnik

Mr. Karnik joined Pyxant Lab Inc. in 2003. As the Director of Bioanalytical Sciences, his responsibilities include leading a team of bioanalytical scientists to conduct bioanalytical projects that support pharmaceutical drug development for both GLP and non-GLP preclinical and clinical studies. These projects utilize state-of-the art analytical techniques, including mass spectrometry, chromatography, and automated sample preparation for the extraction and analysis of small molecule drugs, therapeutic peptides and oligonucleotide drug candidates. In addition, Mr. Karnik serves as Study Director or principle analytical investigator on regulated studies conduct by Pyxant Labs Inc.

Prior to becoming a member of Pyxant Labs Inc., Mr. Karnik earned a Master of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Colorado in 2000, while working full time in the research and development at a medical device company. He then spent several more years in the pharmaceutical industry where he developed and validated analytical methods for development of regulated drugs. Currently, Mr. Karnik is an active member of the Bioanalytical CRO Council, APPS bioanalytical focus groups and American Society for Mass Spectrometry.
